Every Fee Utah Charges an Existing LLC Is Under Twenty Dollars. Bizee's Standalone Renewal Is $149.

Pay one annual fee — $99 — for registered agent representation in Utah. The address goes on your filings, legal mail gets scanned same-day, and we remind you before state deadlines.

Who is talking: UT Registered Agent.org, a Utah registered agent service priced at $99 a year, writing about a company whose customers we would like to have. Bizee's terms below are Bizee's own, as published and reviewed in July 2026.

The Bundle Is Worth Taking

Bizee, known as Incfile until the rebrand, hands out registered agent coverage with its formation packages at no cost, for a period that varies by package: as little as one quarter, as much as twelve months. Anyone already filing a certificate of organization through Bizee should accept those months without hesitation. Free coverage on a filing you were paying for anyway is a straightforward saving, and it would be dishonest for a competitor to argue otherwise.

The part worth planning for is the handover date.

$149, and the Silence Before It

Once the bundle ends, the standalone rate is $149 per year. Bizee prints that figure where anyone can find it, and the disclosure is not what we are objecting to.

What is not published is a reminder. Bundled periods expire on the anniversary of a formation order most owners could not date within a month, and the first $149 charge is usually the notification that the free stretch ended. Whatever you decide about providers, the useful step today is putting that date in a calendar.

This state is remarkably cheap to stay registered in, and seeing the numbers together changes how a vendor invoice reads. Once a Utah LLC exists, the Division charges $18 for the annual renewal, $17 to change the registered agent on the record, $10 if a renewal arrives after the deadline, and $54 to reinstate a company that lapsed. Nothing recurring reaches twenty dollars.

Add all four of those together and the total is $99, which is our entire annual fee and two thirds of one year of standalone Bizee service. Put differently: a Utah business owner could renew, move the agent, pay a late penalty, and recover an expired company, and the state would still have collected less than a single Bizee invoice.

The One Utah Option That Never Starts Billing

Since this page concerns a free arrangement that stops being free, the permanent version deserves a mention. Utah refuses to let a company sit on its own agent line. What the state does permit is naming an internal role there, with papers going to whoever is carrying that role on the day they land.

Nothing is charged for that, ever. The requirement is physical rather than financial: a Utah street address or rural route box on the public record, staffed during business hours, with a PO box permitted only trailing the street address. Owners without premises in Utah cannot use it, and owners whose only Utah address is their home usually decide they would rather not publish it. For everyone else it is a real option and we would rather explain it than have you discover it later.

What $99 Covers Here

One flat annual charge with no promotional period behind it, which is why the renewal invoice is a duplicate of the first one. Legal process delivered to our Utah office is scanned that working day and posted to your account with a notification. State mail is handled on the same terms. Compliance reminders go out while the renewal window is still open, which keeps the $10 penalty theoretical.

There is a $90 rate at BetterLegal, which keeps ours in the low band of published Utah prices rather than at the bottom of it.

Utah handles an agent change with a single filing to the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, the change form covering an LLC's registration information. The state assigns it no number. Processing is $17, non-refundable, and the same figure whether you mail it or complete the change inside the state's online registration system. Filing it in the same transaction as your annual renewal removes the fee altogether.

Our change of agent page has the fields, the online walkthrough, and the record check to run afterward.

The sequencing rule is short and people still get it backward. Appoint us first, then let the Bizee arrangement end. Utah reads that field as continuously occupied, so the exposure in a switch is not paying two providers for a fortnight. It is a lapsed provider still listed on your public record with nobody watching the address behind it, and that is reliably the stretch in which something important gets delivered.

What to Compare

Free for a while, then $149 for as long as you stay. Or $99 now, unchanged at every renewal. Weigh the number you will pay in the ordinary years rather than the one attached to the month you formed the company, and remember that Utah imposes identical duties on whichever provider holds the appointment.
