Utah Puts a Price on Its Own Login. Inc Authority Will Not Put One on Year Two.
Pay one annual fee — $99 — for registered agent representation in Utah. The address goes on your filings, legal mail gets scanned same-day, and we remind you before state deadlines.
Plainly stated at the outset: UT Registered Agent.org sells the service this page recommends, at $99 a year, and has an obvious commercial interest in your decision. The description of Inc Authority's offer reflects what their own site published as of a July 2026 review.
Twelve Months at No Charge Is Twelve Months at No Charge
Inc Authority bundles a free year of registered agent service with its formation package, and the formation service itself costs nothing beyond the state's own filing fee. For a founder counting every outgoing dollar in the first quarter, that is a legitimate saving and we are not going to characterize it as bait.
The gap in the offer is not the free year. It is the year that follows it.
Utah Itemizes a Five Dollar Sign-On
Consider the standard Inc Authority is being measured against.
Utah's renewal for an LLC is $18 a year. That total is made of two parts, and the state publishes both: $13 for the renewal itself and $5 for the UtahID single sign-on that gets you into the filing system. A five dollar login, disclosed in advance, in writing, on a schedule anyone can open without an account. The same document prints $17 for an agent change, $10 for a late renewal, and $54 to restore a company that expired.
Now try to find what Inc Authority charges in year two. We looked in July 2026 the way a customer would, across their published pages, and the renewal rate is not among them. The $0 appears repeatedly. The number that follows it does not appear at all. We are not going to guess at a figure and print it as fact, so the honest statement is that we could not find one. Prices that are not written down are generally spoken instead: at the payment step, or to whoever calls to ask, which is usually the point at which changing your mind has become work.
Why an Unstated Renewal Is Worse Than a High One
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereA published $249 can be compared, budgeted, and rejected on the spot. An unpublished renewal cannot be compared at all, which means the comparison gets deferred until you are already a customer with your agent line filled and a switch to organize.
Utah makes that switch cheap, so this is not a trap you cannot leave. It is simply an avoidable one. The useful question to ask any provider, ours included, is what the second invoice says, and the useful answer is a number rather than an invitation to call.
Our Second Invoice
$99, the same as the first, printed on the pricing page where you can read it before you spend anything. Nothing above it, nothing beneath it, no promotional year that eventually resets.
For that, your filings carry our Utah street address rather than your own. Documents served on the company are scanned the day they arrive and delivered electronically with a notice. Mail from the Division is treated identically. Reminders reach you before the last day of your anniversary month, while the renewal window is still open.
Someone does print a lower number, incidentally. BetterLegal's is $90 per year, which is why we describe $99 as near the bottom of the published range instead of at it.
What It Takes to Leave Inc Authority in Utah
One change filing with Utah's Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, updating the registration information on your LLC. The state does not number the form. Processing is $17, non-refundable, identical on paper and inside the online business registration system, and the state waives it entirely when the change is submitted together with your annual renewal. Our change of agent page carries the entry fields and the record check.
One caution about order, since it is the only part of a switch that can genuinely hurt. Utah expects an agent on your record without interruption, so the new appointment has to be filed before the old arrangement lapses. A provider you have left is still your official recipient until the state says otherwise, and mail delivered to a relationship that ended is the one category of correspondence nobody chases.
A free year is a fine reason to start somewhere. A number you can read is a better reason to stay.
