Swyft Bills Every Quarter. Utah Bills Once a Year, and Two Years of Ignoring It Ends the Company.

Pay one annual fee — $99 — for registered agent representation in Utah. The address goes on your filings, legal mail gets scanned same-day, and we remind you before state deadlines.

Disclosure, since the arithmetic below favors us: UT Registered Agent.org sells Utah registered agent service at $99 a year and would be the beneficiary of any switch this page produces. Swyft Filings' pricing is quoted exactly as Swyft publishes it, from a review conducted in July 2026.

The Fair Part

Swyft states its price openly and states the billing interval beside it, which is more than an unpriced competitor manages. Some owners genuinely prefer paying in four smaller instalments rather than one annual sum, and a vendor offering that cadence is meeting a real preference rather than playing a trick.

The difficulty is what happens when a quarterly number lands in a comparison built out of annual ones.

Four Payments, One Comparison

Agent service from Swyft is billed at $149 for each three-month period. Annualized, that is roughly $596, and our July 2026 review located no opening discount to reduce the first twelve months.

$149 reads like an ordinary annual rate in this category, sitting comfortably between competitors, right up until the word quarterly registers. Entered correctly, $596 is the highest genuine cost of holding a Utah appointment that we have found published anywhere.

What Utah Charges to Keep the Same Company Alive

Eighteen dollars. That is the annual renewal, and it is the state's whole recurring demand.

Roughly $596 therefore buys eleven passes through the $54 the Division charges to bring an expired company back from the dead, which is a peculiar way to spend a year of agent fees and a useful measure of the distance involved.

The Two-Year Fuse, and Who Is Supposed to Notice It

That reinstatement figure is worth understanding, because it is the end of a process that begins quietly.

Utah sets the renewal deadline at the close of your anniversary month, meaning the month in which you first registered, and opens the filing window around sixty days before it. Miss the deadline and the state adds $10. Keep missing it and Utah does not send bailiffs; it lets the fuse burn. Two years past due, the company expires, which is the state's chosen word for administrative dissolution, and reviving it then costs $54 plus everything left unpaid, on top of whatever contracts, loans, and licences assumed you were in good standing the whole time.

Each warning the state sends along that path goes to the agent listed on your record. That is the actual product being sold on this page, by us and by Swyft alike: somebody who opens the state's mail and tells you what it says while the window is still open. A $596 agent reads exactly the same letter as a $99 agent, and Utah does not read it any louder for either of them.

Our Column

$99 for the year, invoiced once, renewing at $99. Service of process handed to us at our Utah address is scanned before that business day closes and pushed to your portal with an email notice. Anything from the corporations division travels the same route. Ordinary business mail that is not legal process can be scanned too, at $15 an item, which is the only additional charge we publish. Reminders go out ahead of your anniversary month rather than after it.

For accuracy: BetterLegal publishes $90 a year, so $99 belongs near the low end of the published range and not at its edge.

Ending the Swyft Filings Appointment in Utah

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Utah moves an agent with one filing, submitted to the Department of Commerce through its Division of Corporations and Commercial Code. The document is the change form for an LLC's registration information, and there is no number to quote because Utah does not number its business forms. Processing costs $17, non-refundable, whether the form is mailed or the change is entered in the state's online registration system using a UtahID login. Time it to accompany your annual renewal and the state waives that $17.

The sequence:

  1. Sign up here and collect the agent name and Utah street address you will be entering.
  2. Fill in the form with the LLC's name and its Utah entity number, then the incoming agent information, or enter the same edit online.
  3. Pay the $17, or file it with the renewal and pay nothing at all.
  4. Search the state's business records once processing finishes and check that the agent displayed is the one you appointed.
  5. Cancel the quarterly billing only after step four returns the right answer.

That last step is the one people reverse, and it is the only genuinely risky part of a switch. Stopping payment to Swyft does not take Swyft off your Utah record. Until the change posts, the state still directs service of process to an address that is no longer being paid to watch anything, and a company can go months before discovering what was left at a door it forgot it owned. Two appointments overlapping for a week costs a rounding error. A vacant one can cost a default judgment.

Swyft signs nothing here and cannot slow the filing down. The outgoing agent has no vote in an agent change under Utah law.

The Comparison, Stated Plainly

Four payments of $149, or one of $99. Utah's requirements do not move with the price: an address inside the state, someone there to take what is handed over, and quick delivery onward. The difference is roughly $497 a year and the interval at which you notice it.
